Ronald Charles Petty, 82, of Carbondale passed away suddenly on Oct. 15, 2009 at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs.He was born Sept. 9, 1927 in London, England to Harry and Florence Petty, and was raised there. He married Gladys Spud on Nov. 27, 1948 in London. In 1961, he immigrated to South Africa. Ron and Gladys moved to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1993. The family would like to thank Myers & Co. Architectural Metals for all their years of goodwill and friendship toward Ron, who is survived by his wife of 60 years, son Keith Petty of South Africa, daughter Susan Eaton of El Jebel and four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. at the Waldorf School on the Roaring Fork. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mid Valley Senior Services; P.O.
