Ron Richmond

Ronald Richmond, a beloved father and friend, passed away April 4 in Chicago. He was 77.

Ron was born June 2, 1931, in Chicago to Ellen and Maurice Richmond.

Ron ran a successful real estate and construction firm in his home state of Illinois. He was also the general partner for the Snowflake Lodge in Aspen for more than 20 years.

He had visited Aspen and the Roaring Fork Valley for more than 40 years and completed several developments in town and throughout the valley. He loved the Aspen way and all its beauty. During his years he became very close with many people ” Michael Behrendt at the St. Moritz Lodge was a dear friend and former business partner ” and always called Aspen his home away from home.

Ron always lived life to the fullest and lit up a room with just his presence.

He is survived by sons Jim, Matt and Robert Richmond, daughter Robin Lucansky, and sisters Bobbie Rubin and Marcy Carlson.

There will be a memorial in his honor at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rustique, 216 S. Monarch St.
