Romanoff hits bottom

Dear Editor:

I am a lifelong Democrat, but this is the first time I have ever sent a letter like this for a Democratic primary. However, I am so deeply troubled by Andrew Romanoff’s “looting” commercial against Michael Bennet, that I simply cannot sit still.

What Romanoff has done is beyond all decency … and borders on libel. Moreover, to me, it indicates that Romanoff is a desperate, “win-at-all-costs” type who will stop at nothing to gain himself a seat in the U.S. Senate. It is extremely troubling and exhibits personality traits that simply don’t belong in civilized politics. Romanoff has recklessly accused Michael Bennet of theft, and that cannot be justified as “politics as usual.”

I was an early supporter of Michael Bennet, long before Romanoff announced that he was entering the race. Since then, I have met Bennet several times, and am very impressed with him and the “freshness” he brings to politics. However, I figured both men were exceptionally talented, and that our party would be extremely well represented if either one was the general election candidate.

Now, I have changed my mind. I am respectfully asking you to vote for Michael Bennet if you have not already sent your ballot in. We have to teach people like Andrew Romanoff that nasty, negative, untruthful politics do not work … and that it is not OK to savagely trash another human being just because you want to be a U.S. senator so very, very badly. Blind ambition is not OK!
