Roberta E. Ferro

Roberta “Bobbie” E. Ferro, 86, of Basalt, passed away April 8, 2011.

Roberta was born June 11, 1924 in Bartlesville, Okla. to Timothy and Nellie Ensch. Bobbie’s passions were her art; metal detecting treasure hunting; exploring the nation by car/camper; avid reading which included histories of ghost towns and lost treasures; writing pointed letters to politicians and newspapers; antiques and coin collecting; chocolate and Oreo cookies. She was a mamma bear when it came to her children.

Mom, you are greatly loved and you will be terribly missed. Bobbie is survived by her son, B.J. Ferro III and (Janet) of Somers, Conn.; daughter Tess Ferro, of Basalt; Bobbie Sandelli of Delray Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.



Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, son Tim Ferro, and her husband, B.J. Ferro Jr.

There will be a funeral Mass Wednesday April 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the St. Mary’s of the Crown in Carbondale, with FR. Jose officiating. Inurnment will be at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Riverside, RI.
