Road wishes come true

The Maroon/Castle Creek Caucus would like to express our gratitude to the city of Aspen for taking such wonderful care of our newly adopted Maroon Creek Road.

Residents and users on Maroon Creek Road have been asking for parking and speed limit enforcement for a long time, because we were afraid one of our neighbors or visitors would be seriously hurt. The road design may be rural but the traffic numbers are certainly urban!

Ever since the road became city jurisdiction, the message has been loud and clear: safety first. There has been enough enforcement to have a visible impact on the driving habits on our road, including some of us who needed to lighten up on our own lead foot.

We would like to thank Aspen Police Department and the parking/transportation crew for helping us become a mellower and gentler roadway.
