Rio Grande Trail work begins in Woody Creek

WOODY CREEK – Construction has begun on a 2.5-mile stretch of the Rio Grande Trail through the Woody Creek area, where the existing trail will be paved and a new, soft-surface trail will be constructed.

Trail users will be detoured periodically over the next two months. Portions of the newly built stretch are expected to open by November, according to Pitkin County Open Space and Trails.
