Rio Grande Trail closed for cleanup

Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

ASPEN – The Rio Grande Trail is closed Tuesday from Stein Park to Jaffee Park to allow crews to clean up a mudslide that took place in that stretch.

The trail is closed to pedestrians and bicycle traffic in the closed trail segment. Heavy equipment will be moved into position on the trail to clean the debris from a slide that occurred Friday afternoon. “Do not attempt to go through that area,” advised the Pitkin County Open Space and Trails Department.

Stein Park is just below Aspen; Jaffee Park is just above Woody Creek.
