Ride for the Cure sets date

The Aspen affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation is hosting its third annual bike ride through the Rockies to fund breast cancer education, screenings and treatment.The Aspen/Snowmass Ride for the Cure begins on Sept. 9 at Paepcke Park in Aspen. The race offers a 30-mile route, which loops from Woody Creek Tavern to St. Benedict’s Monastery, and a 100-mile route that winds through Snowmass Village and Ashcroft before ending back at Paepcke Park.More than 400 riders from 17 states participated in the ride last year.Early registration, which costs $75, ends June 1. After that, the fee is $100. All riders also pledge to raise a minimum of $500 as part of registration.
