RFTA adjusts routes for July 4

Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

ASPEN – Fourth of July events will disrupt a few Roaring Fork Transportation Authority routes on Saturday.

In Aspen, the bus lanes on Main Street will be open for bus use all day and evening, except during the parade, which begins at noon. All buses will run as scheduled, including during the parade.

RFTA says it will provide additional bus capacity as needed to accommodate crowds before and after the evening fireworks in Aspen.

Incidentally, bus service between Aspen and Snowmass Village, and between Aspen and the Brush Creek intercept lot off Highway 82, is free.

In Carbondale, the swimming pool stop on Main Street will be closed for a short time Saturday, from 4 to 4:30 p.m., during the parade.

In Glenwood Springs, there will be no pickups or dropoffs at the Glenwood Springs Community Center between 6 and 11 p.m. Saturday, during the setup and shooting off of the fireworks.
