Review of Tree Farm project in El Jebel delayed for one month

Eagle County’s review of the Tree Farm project in El Jebel has been tabled for a month at the request of the applicant.

The county commissioners were scheduled to start review Feb. 21 in El Jebel. However, the county issued a notice Tuesday that said the meeting will be tabled at the applicant’s request and rescheduled for March 21.

The Tree Farm was proposed by Ace Lane and his company, Woody Ventures LLC.

The Tree Farm planned unit development is proposed on 43 acres on the north side of Highway 82, across the road from Whole Foods Market.

Woody Ventures is seeking approval of 340 residences, a maximum of 134,558 square feet of commercial, office, light-industrial and lodging space. About 22 acres would be active and passive open space.

Dave Marrs, a member of Lane’s team, said there was turnover in Eagle County’s engineering office last week and the new engineer won’t start work until March 6.

Since engineering is such a large part of the review, Lane’s team felt it was best to request a tabling so the new engineer could get up to speed on the application, Marrs said.
