Retain Truden

Dear Editor:I recently retired after serving 16 years as a Rio Blanco commissioner. I voted on 16 district attorney budgets. During the hearings for each of those budgets, I said, “I don’t mind funding your budget, but please, prosecute someone.”For 15 years I was disappointed as I watched many plea bargains and slaps on the wrist.Since approving the 16th budget, the one for the new D.A., Colleen Truden, I have been delighted. Prosecutions and convictions are up dramatically. Colleen is accomplishing a great deal and staying on budget.Part of the credit must go to the outstanding team she has put in place. They are dedicated professionals who want to get the job done. I am especially impressed with Russ Wasley, the assistant D.A. in Rio Blanco County. If the people in the 9th Judicial want to live in increasingly safer communities, it is very important that they vote to retain Colleen Truden on December 13.Don DavisRetired Rio Blanco County CommissionerRangely
