Rescuers find Snowmass skier

SNOWMASS ” Rescuers found a lost skier on Burnt Mountain near Snowmass Saturday at 7:45 p.m.

The man skied left the ski area some time around 2 p.m., according to Aspen Skiing Co. spokesman Jeff Hanle, who wasn’t certain when the man was separated from his group.

Friends reported the man missing in the after­noon and Pitkin County Sheriff’s deputies called in Mountain Rescue Aspen to conduct a search in cooperation with Snowmass Ski Patrol.

“He’s cold, but OK,”Hanle said.

Burnt Mountain is popular off-piste terrain beyond the Elk Camp side of the Snowmass ski area.
