Reminiscing |

Dear Editor:

Reading David Bentley’s recollections, “Those were the days,” was a great stroll down the times of yore. Tompkins Hardware was a favorite stop for every Aspen boy who ever grew up here. When the roof caved in, I was in college, but heard about it in record time. It was a kick to the gut.

If you remember, Bentley has a treasure trove of memories from living in Aspen, memories about the solid Aspen most of us claim to miss. Bring ’em on, David, they are an excellent record of the life and times of an earlier Aspen.
