Remembering the Big Guy

Dear Editor:On Saturday, July 1, family and friends gathered together to celebrate the life of Willard C. Clapper. There were favorite songs and stories, laughs and tears, lots of “Griz” hugs along with more than a fair share of Kleenex tissue. And on behalf of the Clapper family we would like to thank the following for their help in making this day so very special: the Aspen Fire Protection District, the Aspen Volunteer Fire Department, Pitkin County, Taster’s, Walt Smith, Dan Forde, Pastor Tom Jones, Wayne Hodge Williams, and our most heartfelt thanks to Barbara Williams Clapper. This was truly a wonderful community event honoring a truly wonderful man. We will miss him but there is no way we will ever forget him … after all, who could ever forget the “Big Guy”?Tom, Patti, Trevor and Traci ClapperAspen
