Reel Paddling Film Festival World Tour comes to Carbondale May 21

Roaring Fork Conservancy’s River Stewards and Shaboomee Stand Up Paddleboarding are hosting the 2015 World Tour of the Reel Paddling Film Festival on May 21 at Carbondale’s Third Street Center. This 10th annual film festival is produced by Rapid Media and showcases the world’s best paddling films to audiences in the United States, Canada and around the world. The festival inspires people to explore rivers, lakes and oceans, push physical and emotional extremes, embrace the lifestyle and appreciate the heritage of the wild places we paddle.

The Reel Paddling Film Festival is a film competition awarding films in 10 categories. The winners and other shortlisted films tour more than 100 cities around the world — including Carbondale — screening for an audience of more than 30,000 outdoor adventure enthusiasts and their friends and families.

Rapid Media also publishes four leading paddlesports magazines: Rapid, Adventure Kayak, Canoeroots and Kayak Angler magazines. A ticket to the Reel Paddling Film Festival World Tour includes a free one-year digital edition subscription to all of the above magazines.

Beer will be provided by the Roaring Fork Beer Co.. Tickets can be purchased for $15 at the Roaring Fork Beer Co. tasting room or online at Tickets will be for sale at the door for $18.
