Red Brick fundraiser this Saturday
Dear Editor:The Red Brick Council for the Arts celebrates its 10th annual Art Auction and Festival on Saturday, July 30. Festivities start at 1 p.m.! Auction bidding closes at 2:45 p.m. for business items and 3 p.m. for art pieces. The silent auction is the Council’s premier fundraiser of the year with more than 100 donations of art and over 100 business donations up for auction. The art is on display right now in the Red Brick Gallery where you can make an early bid or pay a “buy now” price. The July 30 event will feature a community picnic donated by Tim Handley Catering; live art demonstrations; music provided by the Smuggler Mountain Boys; and performances starting at 3 p.m. by Aspen Tango, Salsa & Zumba and the Aspen Rock and Roll Academy. There will also be a free introductory class in Aspen Tango offered at 4 p.m.The Red Brick Center for the Arts is Aspen’s local art center. The RBCA is a nonprofit entity offering community programs that depend on your support. You are the reason the Center exists. You also enable the Council to continue its mission of promoting the arts and developing the Center as a community resource.
