Reason for the rise

Dear Editor:Over the past few months I read and waited for a newspaper analysis for the cause(s) of the rising monthly Aspen retail sales figures, but after reading “September retail sales skyrocket” (Aspen Daily News, Nov. 4) and “Retail sales climb during fall” (Aspen Times, Nov. 4) the only explanation can be that merchants keep raising their prices and aren’t selling more products and services. What do you think, Pete Luhn, Don Dixon and KNCB Moore? Am I right? What about it, Aspen City Finance Director Paul Menter?Emzy Veazy III, Esq.Aspen and Burbank, Calif.
