Reality TV bites

Dear Editor:

In regards to “Secrets of Aspen” gossip … television these days feeds off of drama and ratings. News will scream bloody murder over a tissue, and “reality TV” will just hop on the popular wagon and exploit what kids find “hip and cool” till you are blue in the face.

“Secrets of Aspen” is no different. The media will promote these shows simply because society is too dumb to turn off the TV. If you don’t want to have these types of shows, then tell society to stop watching stupid crap and move on. Look at the trends; vampires are all the rage after a book, and now every TV station seems to be making some spin-off of vampires caught in a love triangle. Next is teen pregnancy while cheating on the football team. Followed by a society too dumb to realize anything.

“Secrets of Aspen” is just another show made to make money, regardless of stereotypes or what might actually be true. It aired, big deal, but if you want shows like this to stop popping up, just stop watching stupid crap. Because without the ratings or the audience, they stop making flop shows. So maybe, someday, they will put something good on TV for once.
