Read and think

Dear Editor:The “We love Aspen” T-shirt wearers got me thinking about a short story I read in college: “The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas,” by Ursula Le Guin. It’s an allegory, and not a terribly long one.I think everyone in Aspen would be well-served by reading it and thinking about it. My suggestion to read this story is not an accusation, nor is it an invitation to discuss economic policy or social engineering or otherwise engage in Aspen’s favorite pastime – polemics. It’s merely an invitation to read something and give it some thought.Michael MiracleAspen
