RE: Ski For Sisu
Dear Editor,I would like to extend a big thank-you from myself and the Mount Sopris Nordic Council to all of you who came out and skied for Sisu at Spring Gulch on Sunday, Feb. 6. We had a turnout of 108 skiers ranging in age from 2 to 86 years who skied a total of 1,351 kilometers, which, using a kilometer-year scoring, translates into an impressive 64,935 kilometer-years! Thanks to your efforts, we raised $5,360 to help maintain the track! This year’s winners are: kilometers skied: Berit Bjerke-Daniels with 52.5 Km. Most kilo-years skied: Jim Breasted with 2814 Km/years. Honorable mention for the neatest entry form goes to Maria Mork.We also owe a special thanks to Wells Fargo Bank for their very generous pledge of $2,000. Other thanks go to the people and businesses that gave donations for door prizes: Ajax Bike and Sports and The Village Smithy. Our volunteers were Maggie McVoy, Mary Whalen, David Brudzinski, Greg Fitzpatrick, Russ Criswell, Mark Henthorn and Lee Arm Eustis.Once more, thanks to everyone who helped make this a great event!!Wick MosesSki For Sisu coordinator
