Re-elect Fisher

Dear Editor:

You would think that an election in Eagle County wouldn’t be important to an 18-year-old college freshman, but it is.

At age 14, I wanted to enter two pageants over my summer break, and in order to do so, I needed sponsors. It was at a Gypsum Town Council meeting that Sara Fisher heard me speak, very nervously. After the meeting Mrs. Fisher approached me and my parents. She was facing knee surgery and was going to be home recuperating for a few weeks. Knowing that we lived near her, she offered to spend some of her down time working to teach me how to comfortably speak to groups. In the last four years, Sara Fisher has taken an interest in my activities and selection of colleges. She has been encouraging and eager to help in any way she can. Anyone who knows her knows that she has no ulterior motive for her actions. She truly is a kind and compassionate person who works to make our community and county a place that people want to live in.

In this economy, I feel it is important to have leaders who care about the community and are interested in doing what they can to improve lives. Sara Fisher is that type of person – she didn’t have to volunteer to help a nervous girl, but she did. Thanks to her I am now quite comfortable speaking to crowds.

Please vote for Sara Fisher for Eagle County commissioner. Our community, county and my generation will benefit from another four years of her careful decisions.
