Post Independent staff report
Aspen, CO Colorado

GLENWOOD SPRINGS – The Roaring Fork School District Re-1 board is setting up three interview panels for community members, parents and students from Glenwood Springs, Carbondale and Basalt to be part of the superintendent candidate interviews later this month.

Three semi-finalists for the position are to be announced the week of April 23, and interviews are to be conducted on April 30 and May 1 and 2.

Each candidate will be interviewed by seven panels of various stakeholders throughout each day. Interviews will last 45 minutes with each panel. All interviews will take place at Bridges School in Carbondale.

Public panels will include:

• Community members: Two elected or town officials from each town and Garfield County; plus representatives from Valley View Hospital, Colorado Mountain College, Youth Entity, and Roaring Fork Public Education Foundation. This panel will meet at 8 a.m. each day.

• Parents: Five parents from each community will be chosen at random to serve on this committee. Special attention will be paid to applicants representing all facets of the community, and translation will be made available. This panel will meet at 9 a.m. each day. Interested parents should contact school board president Matthew Hamilton at mhamilton@aspensnowmass.co by April 9; include town of residence and the schools your children attend.

• Students: Three students from each of the four high schools (Glenwood Springs, Roaring Fork, Bridges and Basalt). Building administrators will select these participants. This panel will meet at 3 p.m. each day.

Three additional interview panels will be made up of internal district staff, including principals and other building leaders, classified supervisors and staff, teachers and other certified staff and district office administrators.

The Re-1 school board will conduct an additional interview with each of the candidates in the evening.

Community members are also encouraged to submit suggestions for interview questions to mhamilton@aspensnowmass.co by April 17.
