Rankin sees the big picture

Dear Editor:

Gail Schwartz says she had created 23,000 jobs. Where are they? She can’t tell you, because, well, they haven’t actually been created yet.

So Bob Rankin is accused of destroying 23,000 nonexisting jobs? Isn’t this the bureaucratic double-speak that Mr. Rankin is trying to eliminate? Isn’t this double-speak what causes all of us to scratch our heads and causes entrepreneurs to close their doors? Let’s not buy into it.

Bob Rankin, the candidate endorsed by The Denver Post, the Mountain Mail in Salida, the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry (Business Association), and the National Federation of Independent Business, has thought out the ramifications of enacting environmental policies that are untested over the long haul, and he won’t be goaded into “feel-good” programs. We need to be good stewards of the Earth, but we also need to look at all forms of energy in order to keep consumer costs down.

Bob Rankin is the candidate who will look at the whole picture and will not mandate, but will support, the free market. That’s what government is supposed to do, support and get out of the way of free market enterprise. Bob Rankin is the person to fill the state Senate seat for Senate District 5.

A vote for Bob Rankin is what Colorado needs now!
