Rally set for World Cup volunteers

A rally will be held Oct. 29 for volunteers helping at the 2014 Aspen Winternational ski races.

The rally will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Limelight Hotel. Light food and drinks will be provided. In addition, all volunteers who signed up to work 12 hours or more during the event will receive a 2014 Winternational jacket by Helly Hansen.

After a year off, the 2014 Audi FIS Ski World Cup at the Nature Valley Aspen Winternational will host the fastest women ski racers once again Nov. 29 and Nov. 30 in the giant slalom and slalom events. Spectators are invited to the base of Lift 1A at Aspen Mountain to enjoy prime viewing.

“Support from the community is essential in the success of the races as Aspen Mountain once again hosts ski racing on the world stage,” Aspen Skiing Co. said in a statement.
