Rain, clouds back in Aspen forecast

ASPEN – After a week of blue skies and sunshine, clouds, rain and cooler temperatures are back in Aspen’s forecast.
Cloudy skies moved in Sunday and will linger through at least the first half of the week, according to the National Weather Service. Monday’s forecast calls for highs in the 60s and a 50 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the 40s and a 50 percent change of precipitation are in Monday night’s forecast.
On Tuesday, the weather service is calling for partly sunny skies, but a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and Tuesday night. Highs will be in the 60s; overnight lows of 35 to 40 are expected.
Partly sunny skies are forecast Wednesday, with highs again in the 60s and a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and overnight.
On Thursday, mostly sunny skies in the morning will become partly sunny by afternoon, with highs in the 60s, according to the weather service. Partly cloudy skies are expected Friday, with highs creeping up to 65 to 75.
