Put it in a mug
Dear Editor:
Last week’s ZGreen Cup Challenge was a huge success, thanks to all the participating businesses and their dedicated customers. Aspen visitors and locals used over 1,600 reusable cups at eight different coffee shops during the week-long challenge. Thanks to these businesses for their participation in this fun, community awareness challenge: Peach’s Corner Cafe, the Aspen Store, Boden’s Butter, the French Pastry Cafe, Starbucks, Cafe Ink, the Aspen Emporium and Flying Circus, and Paradise Bakery. Congratulations to Peach’s Cafe for taking first place in the challenge and to Cafe Ink for coming in second.
As a reminder to all coffee and tea drinkers in Aspen, all these businesses offer discounts everyday for customers who bring their own reusable mug. If you don’t have one, stop by City Hall this week to pick one up for free. Start a new habit of bringing your own mug as an easy way to reduce waste and save money.

Aspen sustainable development goals set high bar for the state
Last month, the City Council adopted 49 amendments to the International Building Code that will go into effect April 1 — no joke.
