Pulled it off

Dear Editor:Thank you for the opportunity to express my thanks to everyone who was involved with the recent Aspen School District eighth-grade Outdoor Education Program. The class is quite large (130 kids), and the logistics of transporting them, along with all their gear, food, supplies, and group leaders, for a week in the backcountry was a tremendous undertaking. The trip this year was an extraordinary success, which was only achieved due to the efforts of the Forest Service, City Market, parents, community volunteers, teachers and, of course, the students. We are all blessed to have this fabulous program available in our school. Thanks again to everyone, especially the teachers and patrol leaders, whose skill, commitment, energy, and love for the kids make the experience so profound and memorable.Ellen WalbertAspen
