Been wondering what exactly the updated Aspen Area Community Plan says? Now you can find out.Copies of the draft AACP update are now available for public inspection at the Community Development Department offices on the third floor of Aspen City Hall.In addition, the city and county are putting together a series of meetings on the plan, to discuss specific key issues such as average and peak population numbers and projections, and goals for the construction of affordable housing. The first meeting, before the county Planning and Zoning Commission, is set for July 13 at 5 p.m. in Plaza One, a meeting room on the ground floor of the building next door to the Pitkin County Courthouse. The next meeting, also before the county P&Z, will be July 27 at 7 p.m. in Plaza One.A work session for the city and county planning commissions, as well as the county commissioners and the City Council, will be held in August, after which there will be a series of public hearings to gather suggestions, comments and criticisms of the plan.Work on updating the plan has been going on since the spring of 1998; officials originally were hoping to have the final revisions adopted by this summer.
