Proud to serve community
From all of us at the Aspen Police Department, I would like to say “thank you” to Aspen Elks Lodge No. 224 for hosting the Law Enforcement Dinner on Saturday, May 15, 2010.
The dinner, held in recognition of National Law Enforcement Memorial Day and National Police Week, was a reminder of how fortunate we are to work in Aspen, a relatively safe community. Sadly, 116 law enforcement officers throughout the United States lost their lives in the line of duty during 2009. The Aspen police appreciate your support and the trust you, and the community, place in us as police officers.
We will always endeavor to live up to your expectations.

Last month, the City Council adopted 49 amendments to the International Building Code that will go into effect April 1 — no joke.
