Proud to be an American

Dear Editor: Don’t know how many saw “60 Minutes” Sunday night, but the article about the 13 New York City paramedics brought tears to my eyes.Put that purity of feeling and the infinite goodwill generated by what these guys are doing on their own and compare that to the cheap, short-sighted political machinations of the Bush lackeys, TV ads by the shameless drug-pushing shysters called the pharmaceutical industry, etc. … and I realize why I am proud to be American and a New York City native. Those 13 men are heroes by any definition and are helping to rebuild some of our trashed reputation in the Muslim world. If you haven’t heard of what they are doing, you soon will.J.
