Protecting the little guy

Dear Editor:

I am just an old man enjoying the good life of Aspen, having lived here for the past 10 years. I intended to settle here in 1964 after I got out of the Army, but my move was delayed for 35 years by the responsibility of raising a family and a long legal career in Chicago. I have no special interests to protect or develop except to be part of a peaceful, friendly, and caring community.

My view of Aspen politics is that it should be in the best interest of all individuals and not favor one group or one philosophy. We may not each get all we want but some sacrifice is needed for the common good. I know Mick Ireland will protect that idea. He will not favor any one segment of the town over the other. I particularly feel that Mick will fight for us ordinary folks who have no special agendas. The little guy will never get hurt if Mick is mayor. I urge you all to consider a vote for Mick Ireland, and please come out and vote whatever your preference.

Bob Nix Sr.
