Professionalism at its finest

Dear Editor:

Ten days ago, I had an unpleasant encounter with snow-covered boulders on Aspen Mountain. I suffered internal trauma and broken ribs.

After a scary moment when I couldn’t breathe, was I ever happy to see the Aspen Mountain Ski Patrol. It was impressive how quickly they got to me, and how skillfully they checked me out and got me down from a difficult spot.

The two boys in the ambulance showed their skills also.

At the hospital, the ER staff lost no time assessing my injuries. My only small regret is that they had to cut my favorite civilian ski sweater to shreds.

Many thanks to all of them.

Eddie Rainer
