Pro Challenge to announce host cities

ASPEN – Already a host city for the USA Pro Challenge’s first two bicycle races through Colorado, Aspen also will host a news conference Wednesday concerning the 2013 event.

At 8:30 a.m. at The Little Nell hotel, the USA Pro Challenge will announce the host cities for next year’s race.

“After drawing more than 1 million fans in the first two years and generating nearly $200 million in cumulative economic impact for the state of Colorado, the USA Pro Challenge will return with a new course and new series of host cities next year,” according to a news release issued Tuesday. “The 2013 race will allow spectators to have multiple opportunities to root for their favorite riders and teams.”

The race is set for Aug. 19 through 25. The two previous winners were Levi Leipheimer and Christian Vandevelde.
