ASPEN Let’s see, it’s Food & Wine Classic weekend in Aspen, which means a veritable media army is heading our way to provide a hungry nation with all it can learn about the event.According to Sheri Heedum, public relations officer for the Classic, the ABC news magazine show “Good Morning America” will film a couple of short segments from Wagner Park on Friday morning.

Heedum said a few dozen Aspenites have agreed to show up at 5:45 a.m. and act like a crowd of fun-loving drinkers and eaters for the cameras. The taping will feature a burger cookoff by the show’s in-house chef, Emeril Lagasse, and television chef Mario “The Fat” Batali in honor of Father’s Day. The segment or segments will air between 8:30 and 9 a.m. Mountain time, Heedum said. And on Saturday, not to be outdone, “Today,” NBC’s morning news magazine show, will be here for its own segments with travel editor Peter Greenberg, according to Lisa Johnson of the Aspen Chamber Resort Association. The local air time for the segment was unknown by press time.According to Heetum, the weekend event also is attracting more than 100 journalists, representing such newspapers as The New York Times, the New York Post and the New York Daily News and magazines such as Business Week, U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek, to name a few.
