Preferring primaries

Dear Editor:

As a longtime, 33-year resident of Aspen, a World War II and Korean War veteran and a registered Democrat, I would like to express my complete disappointment in the manner in which recent caucuses were held.

I am an avid Hillary Clinton supporter and because of the limited physical space available, I was not able to express my preferences. I think the only fair way to support the candidate of one’s choice is to completely do away with the caucus procedure and resort to a primary election system that most states have adopted.

This would give all participants a chance to select the candidate of their choice.

I hope this gets the ball rolling.

Bill Leonard
