Praise for the Sheriff’s Office
Dear Editor:
Recently we needed help here in Woody Creek to address a situation that was unstable and was at serious risk of turning dangerous.
The Sheriff’s Office was called. Deputy Jesse Steindler led the response. He and his team put the situation under surveillance and worked creatively and diligently to bring the situation to a peaceful resolution. Though this approach required the deputies to stand at alert at their posts for hours, until darkness and the cold had fully set in, their professionalism and patience did not fade.
In addition to the unwavering focus on the dignity and safety of all involved, all members of the Sheriff’s Office who played a role in this action contributed to the integrity of the community through their high level of professionalism, discretion, objectivity and availability to talk with, inform and calm any neighbor who had concerns or questions.
This is one of many examples of the essential support Woody Creek receives from the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office. The tolerance, openness and fairness displayed by the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office are pillars of peace and strength in our community.
Thank you for your excellent work.
