Powder to the People plans Pow Party
ASPEN – With the first round of winter storms already blanketing Aspen-area slopes, local backcountry ski group/nonprofit Powder to the People is ready to celebrate with a Pow Party.
The fifth annual fundraiser takes place Friday, Dec. 3 from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 700 E. Bleeker St., Aspen.
The evening will include appetizers, live music, door prizes, and silent and live auctions. The party doubles as an opportune time just before the holidays to stock up on new ski, snowboard and backcountry gear, according to organizers.
Also promised: the latest information on the anticipated release of the final White River National Forest Travel Management Plan and how it will affect public lands in the popular Richmond Ridge area off the back of Aspen Mountain.
The annual Pow Party benefits Powder to the People’s continuing educational and collaborative efforts toward equal public access to public lands, backcountry safety and etiquette.
“The Pow Party is a fun way to start off the winter season and meet up with ski pals after a long offseason,” said PowdertothePeople.org founder and director Mike Sladdin in a press release. “Plus, it provides critical support to a grassroots, local organization and a forum to share information about where we stand as a group of responsible citizens and hybrid backcountry enthusiasts.”
The recommended donation is $20 per person, which includes a complimentary beverage. RSVP to email@example.com or by phone to 970-ERA-2SKI (372-2754). Credit card payments are accepted via Paypal to firstname.lastname@example.org.
