Powder to the People and the Colorado Avalanche Information Center will play host to a spring backcountry awareness discussion from 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 21 at Performance Ski, 614 Durant St., Aspen.
Avalanche Center local forecaster Blase Reardon will summarize the season to date, giving an overview of the current snowpack, backcountry conditions and recent avalanche activity. He will also discuss patterns and trends in the seasons.
The presentation could include an in-person interview with a local snowboarder involved in one of this season’s incidents.
The event is free and open to the public, but donations to offset costs will be accepted at the door and on Paypal at email@example.com.
