Poll: What should be done about the problem at North Star?
With so much litter and noise and a general abundance of people at North Star Nature Preserve over the Fourth of July weekend and plenty of other days, as well, this week’s poll question asks readers what should be done about the growing problem at North Star.

Last week’s question — “Will you sign the Base2 petition? — brought in 808 votes. More than 70 percent, or 568 votes, chose “yes, Base2 is not in line with the will of the community.” Twelve percent, or 97 votes, said “no,” because they liked the project just fine. Another 8 percent, or 68 votes, said “no” because the project was grandfathered in before Referendum 1 passed. About 5 percent, or 44 voters, weren’t sure. And the remaining 4 percent, or 31 votes, said “yes,” because they don’t like developer Mark Hunt.
