Poll: Was $1,000 fine for EKS Events enough?

With news last week that Pitkin County fined EKS Events, an event-planning company that took more than 60 wedding guests on a float trip at North Star Nature Preserve earlier this month, $1,000 for violating the area’s management plan, this week’s Web poll question asks readers if the $1,000 fine is enough.

Last week’s poll question — “Should Chris Jacobson resign from his seat on the Snowmass Village Town Council? — attracted 1,874 votes. Nearly 34 percent, or 633 votes, said no, that the people who want him out are politicizing his behavior for their own gain. Another 33 percent, or 624 votes, said yes, because his alleged behavior from his recent DUI charge and jail incident is inexcusable. The remaining 33 percent, or 617 votes, said no, it should play out in court before he decides to do anything.
