Police seek suspect who bothered girl

Aspen Times Staff Report

Aspen police are looking for a man who they believe followed a local girl and asked her inappropriate questions on two occasions.

The man is described as white, between the ages of 20 and 30. He is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and has discolored, crooked teeth with a gap between his two front teeth. The man has dark to black wavy, frizzy hair that extends below his shoulders (longer than it appears in the sketch), according to a statement to police.

The man was first reported in the Smuggler Mobile Home Park area on the evening of Aug. 7, 1998. The same individual was seen again by the same girl on the evening of Feb. 26, 1999, in the vicinity of Garmisch and Main streets. On both occasions, the man asked the girl inappropriate questions and followed her home, the statement said.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact detective Brad Onsgard or any other officer at 920-5400.
