Police say teen sexually assaulted 12-year-old

EL JEBEL – A resident of the El Jebel area is in custody at the Eagle County jail on a $20,000 bond connected to allegations that he sexually assaulted a child.

Nelson J. Orellana,19, was arrested Aug. 10. His arrest came after the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office was notified in July about possible sexual relations he had with a juvenile.

Police say that the incident occurred two years ago; Orellana was 17 at the time, and the alleged victim was 12.

Orellana faces two Class-4 felony counts of sexual assault on a child, according to a press release issued by the Sheriff’s Office on Friday .
