Aspen, CO Colorado

EL JEBEL – Law enforcement officers from several jurisdictions responded to the El Jebel Mobile Home Park on Wednesday around 8:30 p.m. for an apparent suicide.

Officers scrambled to the area after reports of a shot fired at a residence in the trailer park, according to a source familiar with the incident. The Basalt Police Department took command of the incident initially while the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office organized deputies. The incident captured attention from local residents because several police cars responded to the scene to try to determine the nature of the gunfire.

Authorities were cautious about entering the premises. A Basalt ambulance crew was on standby as of press time until it was deemed safe for them to enter the residence.

No details were immediately available from the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office.
