EAGLE COUNTY ” A 20-year-old man was allegedly taking shots of tequila with his fiancee while driving to Denver last week for his drunk driving court hearing, according to an Eagle County Sheriff’s Office report.

The man was reportedly driving too fast and changing lanes frequently on Interstate 70. The man exited in Edwards and a deputy stopped him at a gas station.

The man was slurring his speech, and his black Nissan Altima smelled like alcohol. The deputy found a bottle of tequila, and the couple told police they had been drinking.

The man allegedly forgot what year he was born and repeatedly said he was “dumb” and “stupid.”

He blew a 0.126 on a breathalyzer and was arrested on suspicion for driving under the influence, excessive alcohol on breath, failure to appear in court and illegal window tint.

Deputies took the drunk 21-year-old fiancee ” who wanted to drive the car ” to the Comfort Inn so she could get a room.
