Police identify man found dead in Vail
Aspen, CO Colorado
VAIL, Colo. ” Authorities said Monday they are still investigating the death of a 48-year-old man whose body was found in his Vail apartment Sunday morning.
The man was identified as David Mallory; his cause of death has not yet been determined, Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis said. The autopsy and toxicology reports on the body were to be finished by the end of Monday.
Vail Police responded to a call from Mallory’s father, who was concerned that he had not heard from his son in more than a week, and that he had not heard from him over the Thanksgiving holiday. Police arrived at Mallory’s West Vail home and found his body.
Mallory had moved to Vail two weeks ago from New York and lived alone at the Homestake Condominiums on Vail View Drive in West Vail. Vail Police Officer Brad Baldwin said the death is still under investigation, and that police do not know how long Mallory had been dead.
Police and coroner’s officers said the preliminary investigation did not suggest suspicious circumstances.
