Plowing problem

Dear Editor:

This last winter, after the only serious snowfall in Aspen, I complained to the mayor that the city maintenance shop was plowing their snow into Castle Creek. I was assured by the mayor that was not the case.

Now that the snow has melted, you can see the gravel the city uses on the streets sitting on the bed of the creek.

Perhaps it is time the city begins an environmentally sound plowing policy around the city shop and not plow snow toward the 10-foot strip of land between the creek and Power Plant Road. Instead, they should construct a detention pond at the curve on the road and plow their snow there.
