Plenty of theater thanks
August 22, 2008
As the summer winds down and the cultural season ends next week, I want to say how thrilling it is that Theatre Aspen’s season, our 25th Anniversary and my first as artistic director, was our most successful season yet. Theatre Aspen has been showered with so much attention and support by this community, from audiences and local businesses to past supporters who returned to the fold, and I am very grateful.
I’m so proud of the shows we produced, but even more so by the people that made the season happen. Wonderful local stars from the Crystal Palace found a new home with us alongside artists from the Broadway community. A fantastic board encouraged me to create the season I envisioned. The staff that resides in our Red Brick office is a joyful, hard-working and dedicated group that unfailingly shows up wherever and whenever they are needed.
I’d like to acknowledge the seasonal workers that are so invaluable to us: interns, box office managers, technical crew, designers, actors and especially the volunteers ” we were blessed with talent, creativity and passion this season and could not have done it without all of them.
Alex Kaufman, a new and enthusiastic donor, just gifted us with a donation that has two anonymous matching offers, so that any donations from now until October will triple in value!
It is with this kind of support that Theatre Aspen begins its next 25 years. I can’t wait until next summer!
