Please, leave ’em alone

Dear Editor:

Yes, I can bear to leave them alone … hopefully so will everybody else!

I want to commend the person who wrote in, “Can you bear to leave them alone?” (editorial, Sept. 28). I am amazed how either insensitive or ignorant people can be. It is quite obvious our bears are in major distress and starving. We have mother bears with cubs that will need to go into hibernation with enough fat on mom to also feed her young cubs. You would think with all the brilliant people and the money in Aspen, something could be done to assist the bears and hope for a better season.

Remember ” the bears were here first, and they have had to adjust to our sprawl all over their feeding grounds.
