Plastic taxes demonstrate intellect

Dear Editor:

Taxing disposable items is a great way to demonstrate how superior we Aspen intellectuals are to the environmentally unwashed masses who, regrettably, outnumber us in this retrograde society.

Let’s really show the Neanderthals and tax all disposables. Diapers, Ziplock bags, Saran Wrap, styrofoam cups, rubber bands, anything and everything we can think of. And it will be good for tourism. We can promote the city as the foremost destination for the self-aggrandizing tourist who wants to pay more sales taxes. There must be a lot of those.
