Plastic all around us
Dear Editor:
It is amazing how many letters have appeared in our papers condemning the vote against Basalt’s plastic bag ban.
Have these people given any thought to the fact that each plastic bag from either of the grocery stores in Basalt contains five or six items packaged in plastic? Those items in plastic amount to more than the bag itself!
Almost 100 percent of jars and packaging are made of plastic, so please think the problem through completely.
